Cathy Cianciulli
Executive Director
Highlights:
Mrs.
Cianciulli attended Jacksonville University, Florida with numerous
scholarships in Voice, Dance, Opera, Choreography. She graduated cum
laude with a Bachelor's of Art Degree and also received her State
Certification in Music Education through Immaculata College. She
continued on a Masters level with courses at Temple University and West
Chester University. She has performed in Europe, for Bob Hope USO Shows,
in Saint Mary's Georgia, for Charleton Heston, in Disney, and has also
done back-ups for Barry Manilow. She has won numerous awards in the
South for her performances, as well as in the North.
Mrs. Cianciulli was a winner in the Mario Lanza Competition and
performed at the Mario Lanza Ball. In 1985 she was crowned Miss
Montgomery County (Miss America Pageant) and was also
nominated "Woman of the Year" in Philadelphia. She has
attended numerous workshops in New York and Philadelphia to
enhance her love for educating children in the Arts. She has
presented opportunities for students to perform in Nashville,
Tennessee, Disney World, Florida, Cruises, Governors Mansion,
Sixers, Flyers, Wings games, Parades, on Cable television and
also to study and perform in Rome, Italy. Mrs. C is also
certified through Dance Educators of America.
Her most valued honor and motivator
are her husband, a silent and supportive partner and her 4
children, ages 10,13, 15,16. All of her children are involved
in the arts and already at young ages have received many awards
for their performances.
Developing opportunities, nurturing a love for the arts and
advancing the students technically, musically and creatively is
her ambition and lifelong commitment
Her love for performance has encouraged her to reach out to
educating and motivating students in performance. She believes
"There is always something new to be learned, we must seek, find
and shower our children with new and exciting curriculum in
dance, music and theatre."

Christine
Villeneuve-Jones

Artistic Director of
Ballet Concerto, Director of Ballet Concerto Productions
Highlights: Mrs Jones
received her early training in Marylalnd. She went on to further her
training at North Carolina School for the Arts and lastly on
scholarship at the Pennsylvania Ballet School (the former official
school of the Pennsylvania Ballet), under the direction of Lupe
Serrano. Mrs. Jones joined Pennsylvania Ballet as an apprentice, and
was promoted to corps de ballet the following season. She remained with
Pennsylvania Ballet throughout its direction under Robert Weiss and
Richard Tanner, and 1 year under Christopher D'Amboise. Mrs. Jones was
also a recipient of the Princess Grace award for dance during her
apprenticeship with the company. Chris continues to perform as a guest
artist in principal and solo roles with regional companies in
Pennsylvania and in her home state of Maryland. In addition to teaching
all levels of ballet for the past 10+ years, Mrs Jones is also the
Artistic Advisor for the Harford Ballet and Ballet Mistress for Dance
Theatre of Pennsylvania. Mrs Jones is also a licensed Physical
Therapist Assistant and proud mother of two.
Melissa Putz
Highlights: Melisa Putz earned a BFA in related arts at Kutztown
University and continued her dance training through the Professional
Training Program at the Merce Cunningham Dance Studio in New York City. She
received a full dance scholarship to attend the Strictly Seattle Dance
Intensive in Seattle, WA. Melisa has been awarded a Leeway Foundation Grant
Award, a Professional Development Grant Award from Dance Advance, a Rocky
Dance Award through the 2003 Philadelphia Fringe Festival and selection for
the Susan Hess Choreographers Project. Melisa teaches Professional Level
modern Dance at the Susan Hess Modern Dance Studio and Creative Movement and
Childrens Yoga at the University City Arts League and St. Marys Preschool
in Philadelphia and Preschool dance, ballet, modern and jazz dance at the
Pennsylvania Performing Arts Academy in North Wales, PA.
Melisa is co-founder and artistic director of PIMA Group, a
collaborative performance group founded in 2001 and based in Philadelphia.
PIMA Group has performed at various venues in Baltimore, Boston, New York
City and Philadelphia. PIMA Group receives funding support through the
Philadelphia Cultural Fund and Fractured Atlas.
Jennifer D'Antonio
Assistant Director of Ballet Concerto
Highlights: Jennifer, a Philadelphia native, received her training
at many notable schools including, the Philadelphia Dance Conservatory,
the Ballet Center, Budzynskis Studios of Ballet, Columbia City Ballet
and the Richmond Ballet School. She has studied with several notable
teachers/dancers including Cherie Noble, Barbara Sandanato, and Gelsey
Kirkland.
Jennifer has performed and continues to
perform corps and solo roles with regional ballet companies in
Southeastern PA and Maryland. In addition to teaching and
choreographing for the past 11 years, Mrs. D'Antonio is resident guest principal for Ballet Concerto, PPAA's
ballet company. Mrs. D'Antonio has also been commissioned to choreograph
for other regional ballet companies, including a full length
production.
Jennifer Anastasi
Director of COMAD Modern Company
Highlights: Jennifer graduated with a B.A. in dance from DeSales
University. She received a Talent Scholarship and Academic Scholarship
to DeSales University. She has extensive training in dance. Jennifer has
performed with the Florida West Ballet Company and also has experience
with the Methacton Childrens Musical Theater in which she is still
actively involved. Jennifer is a former student of the Conservatory of
Music and Dance. This is Jennifers fourth year at the Conservatory.
Annemarie Cianciulli
Macrina
Highlights: Annemarie is a December 1998 graduate of Beaver College. She
graduated with Departmental honors in her major and received a Bachelor of
Arts degree in early childhood and elementary education. Annemarie had been
dancing since age 3 and has been trained in ballet, Pointe, jazz, modern,
tap and gymnastics. She has been competing in various areas of dance for
seventeen years and has won several awards. She performed in the
Philadelphia Fringe Festival as well as dancing in lead roles in the
Nutcracker. She performed with the Donetsky Ballet Company in the
Nutcracker. She also danced in the Conservatorys production of the
Nutcracker for the past three years. Annemarie studied Ballet in Rome, Italy
and performed in an Opera at the end of her stay there. This is Annemaries
9th year at the Conservatory. She teaches children ages three and up.
Kristy Nocito
Highlights: Kristy has nineteen years of dance experience. She has
studied various styles of dance such as ballet, tap, jazz, modern, lyrical,
hip hop and Pointe. In addition, she performed in recitals and competed in
many competitions. Kristy majored in dance at Temple University for two
years. She also danced for Temples dance team for two consecutive years.
She has taught at dance camps for children and performed on Good Day
Philadelphia along with other local stations. She competed in NCA Nationals
in Daytona, Florida. Kristy currently judges dance competitions and takes
classes in New York and Philadelphia to maintain training and learn of new
dance developments and techniques. Kristy is very pleased to be entering her
6th year at the Conservatory of Music and Dance.
Kathryn O'Connor
Highlights: Kathryn has been a part of the dance world for the past
twenty-one years, beginning her study of dance at the age of seven. She
attended Temple University and participated in many dance programs including
the University Dance Teams Diamond Gems, performing at football and
basketball games, and also competing. Kathryn graduated with a Bachelors of
Science in Education and currently teaches fifth grade in Philadelphia. She
is presently taking graduate courses at Temple, anticipating to receive
her masters in education.
She also takes dance classes down in the city to keep up with the latest
dance trends. Kathryn teaches ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and pre-pointe here
at the Conservatory of Music and Dance and enjoys teaching all age groups.
She is looking forward to her fifth year with the studio.
Courtney Bumbry
Highlights: Courtney started dancing at the age of four and for
several years and trained in ballet, jazz, pointe, lyrical, modern and
production. She later moved to the Conservatory in the Eagleville location
for her senior year in high school. She attended Lansdale Catholic and
became a member of the Dance Company. Courtney had the honor of being a
member for three years and as a class representative for two. She attended
Shippensburg University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in
Elementary Education with a minor in reading. While attending college
Courtney joined the university's In Motion Dance Troupe. The last two of
her four year membership she was elected as the troupe director. This will
be her third year as part of the Conservatory family and she looks forward
to the upcoming year!
Christina Bean Cabattoni
Highlights:Tina has been dancing and teaching for 45 years and has
worked with the students of the Conservatory for almost 16 years! She
received her dance training at Temple University in Ambler/ Philadelphia, PA
and was a Company member and apprentice instructor of the Caribbean Dance
Company in St. Croix, USVI. Recently she has been attending tap classes at
the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and is continuing her education
by attending workshops taught by the American Tap Dance Foundation in New
York City. She plans to continue to teach our students how to enjoy and love
dance as much as she does and is looking forward to working with our new
special needs students. Tina is also an Executive Assistant and the mother
of two high-school students.
Briana Byerly
Highlights: Briana began her dance training at the age of 4.
She later moved on to The Harleysville School of Dance for several years and
continued her dancing at the Conservatory of Music
and Dance throughout high school. Briana attended
Slippery Rock University and received her Bachelor of
Fine Arts Degree in Dance. While at Slippery Rock,
Briana performed and choreographed several pieces for
various concerts. Briana enjoys working with the talented
students and teachers at The Conservatory of Music and Dance.
Angela Trapano
Highlights: Angela began her dance training in Doylestown, Pennsylvania
under the direction of George Thomson at the Dancers Studio Workshop. She
also spent two years studying at Kutztown University under the direction of
Dr. Leslie Netting. She has studied under many notable teachers and
professional dancers such as Alexi Charov, Natalia Charova, Marth
Chamberlain, Eva Szabo, Andrew Pap, Cherie Noble and Kim Clayton. She has
attended summer intensive programs with Joffrey Ballet of New York and
Ballet Theatre of Maryland. In 2004, Angela was invited to be a corp member
with the Ballet Theatre of Maryland under the direction of Dianna Cuatto. We
look forward to having Angela with us for her second year.
Kelli Lynne Widener
Highlights: Kelli earned a degree from Kutztown University as a major in
Art Education and Minor in Dance. She also has a Vagonova Ballet
Cerification from Bryn Mawr College. She was a guest artist for the
Spiritoso Ballet Company and Co Founder of the Golden Dancers Competition
Team. This is Kellis second year at the Conservatory.
Angelina Dellose
Highlights: For over twenty years Angelina has been Dance Master trained
in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical Contemporary, Hip Hop, Pre-Pointe, and Musical
Theatre. In 2004 she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Manhattan
College, while dancing in NYC with the Nemesis Dance Company as a principal
dancer. She also continued her dance training at Broadway Dance Centre and
has performed at Lincoln Center in NYC, 1996 Atlanta Olympics, Disney World
and Carnival Cruises. She has also danced and acted in several television
and radio commercials which include Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Nissan, and the
Philadelphia Eagles. Angelina has also won many awards for her dance as well
as her choreography. Recently, she has also become a member of Theatre
Alliance of the Greater Philadelphia Area. Angelina joined our team last
year and is very excited to be teaching Dance and Performing Arts at the
Conservatory of Music and Dance.
Gina Passero
Highlights:
Gina Passero has been dancing since the
age of 3. She started with the
Conservatory of Music and Dance at the age of 5 when the studio first
opened in 1989. While she was a
student at the Conservatory, Gina participated in many dance team trips
including: Disney World, the Spectrum, The Grand Ole Opry, The Big Red
Boat, and her personal favorite,
Rome,
Italy.
After graduating from high school, Gina went to The Pennsylvania
State University at University Park, known to many
as Penn
State.
She graduated in May 2006 with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing
and a minor in Dance. Gina has
loved dance for as long as she can remember and is excited to be
spreading this joy to the students of the Conservatory of Music and
Dance.
Michelle Dudek
Highlights:
Michelle trained at the
University of the Arts, The Broadway Dance Center in NYC and at Koresh Dance
in Philadelphia. She has also received additional training at the many dance
conventions throughout NYC and Phila. areas. Miss Michelle joins the team at
PPAA after 30+ years of teaching independently and at several other dance
studios including the American Academy of Ballet and West Chester Performing
Arts.
Blanca Agnew
Highlights: Blanca began her training in Puerto Rico at Ballet
Contemporaneo at the age of three. Became member of Ballet Concierto de
Puerto Rico at age 13 as a Corps of Ballet and performed classical
repertoire such as Swan Lake, Don Quixote, Romeo & Juliet, Giselle and
Nutcracker. Later she joined Ballets de San Juan de Puerto Rico were she
was a Soloist and performed many George Balanchine choreographies such as
Apollo, Who Cares, Walts Fantasy, Rubys, Serenade, and Concerto Barroco.
During that time she received scholarships to study in Joffrey Ballet, Washington Ballet,
Baltimore Ballet, Broadway Dance Center and Steps in NY. As a member of the
Ballets de San Juan, Blanca traveled through United States, South America
and Mexico. During that time Blanca also performed throughout United States
with companies such as Eglevsky Ballet in Long Island and Albano Ballet in
Hartford CT. Through her career Blanca studied under Blanca Cortes,
Alexander Filipov, Michael Vernon, Nicolas Beriozoff, Lolita San Miguel,
Sandra Jennings and Marina Eglevsky. She has taught all levels of ballet and
recently has become familiar with the Leap & Learn method. Blanca also has
aBachelors degree in Business Administration from Temple University with a
concentration in Risk Management. She is married with three beautiful
children Isabella, Gabriella and Liam.
Trina Marie Moffett Highlights:
Miss Trina began dancing at the age of 10.
After attending Governors School of
the Arts in the summer of 10th grade, she decided that dance was
her life long calling. She began her college education at Purchase College-SUNY
and graduated from University of the Arts with a degree in Dance
Performance. Upon college graduation Trina toured the country with the
Broadway production of CATS, she then trekked across the seas as a dancer
with Holland America Cruise Lines. While living in New York City, Trina
danced with FluidEdge Dance Company and performed in many venues throughout
the city. She has just moved back into the area to begin her teaching
career here with the Conservatory.

Department:
Lidia Abadia
Teaches: Piano and Voice Highlights: Lidia grew up in Serbia, former Yugoslavia. During
elementary school Lidia regularly attended music lessons studying piano,
music theory and solfegio. Due to her intensive study she entered in several
piano and ensemble competitions. She continued her music education while
attending Music Conservatory High School where she studied piano and voice
simultaneously. In 1991 due to the war, Lidia moved to the United States and
continued her music studies at Immaculata College, Pennsylvania. She
graduated with a Bachelors of Music Education with emphasis in voice and
piano. Today she enjoys teaching and sharing her love for music.
Mary Boyer
Teaches: Piano Highlights: Mary has been a teacher with the Conservatory of Music and
Dance since 1996. She graduated from Immaculata University with a Bachelor
of Music, cum laude, with certification in Music Therapy. She is a member of
the Delta sigma Music Honor Society and a member of the American Music
Therapy Association. Mary has worked at the Academy of Community Music as a
music therapist and music teacher in the crescendo program. She was a
staff music therapist at Temple Continuing Care and currently works as a
therapist at St. Mary Manor in Lansdale, PA. Mary enjoys providing private
and group instructions in piano here at the Conservatory and looks forward
to many more years of service.
Svetlana Zhuk
Teaches: Piano
Highlights: Svetlana is a gifted teacher of music and piano technique.
She achieved the equivalent of a Masters Degree in Music and Music Theory
in her native country of Belarus in Eastern Europe. Svetlana taught music at
a college level for 10 years in Belarus before she immigrated to America in
1998. She has been teaching at the Conservatory of Music of Music and Dance
for six years.
Jean Keenan
Teaches: Violin
Highlights: Violinist for over 40 years Musical training St.
Hubert's High School, New School of Music (Philadelphia), Chestnut Hill
College (Philadelphia). Since 1960 violin member of several community
orchestras including Olney Symphony, Ambler Symphony, Chestnut Hill College
orchestra. From 1989 to 2005 held the post of Second Violin section leader
of the Susquehanna Symphony Orchestra in Harford County - Maryland as well
as Secretary of the Board of Directors.
Paul DiRenzo
Teaches: Guitar, Piano, Saxophone
Highlights: Paul studies at West Chester University as a Music Education
Major. He completed two years in the Honors program, was the recipient of
the Matt Bailey Scholarship and Outstanding Musician Award and is Co-Vice
president of Recruitment for West Chester Universities Honors program. He is
proficient in Keyboard, Saxophone, Guitar and Bass.
Joy Keener
Teaches: Voice
Highlights: Joy graduated from Juniata College with a major in Music
Education. She also graduated from Pittsburgh Musical Institute with a BA in
Vocal Performance. She studied Opera and Theatre at Chatham College. She has
performed for Radio, Television and Theatre. Among her lists of credits are
performances at the Mann Music Center, Carnegie Music Hall, Germany/Austria/Italy.
William Long
Teaches: Guitar
Highlights:William comes to us with 39 years of playing and Teaching
Experience. Mr. Long studied at the Bucks County Community College and
received his certificate in Music. He also studied with Saul Goodman,
Charles Ensinosa and Ronald Velosky. He has played with many Rock and Jazz
bands as well as taught technique, ear training and Music Theory.
Judy Kim
Teaches: Piano
Highlights: Judy has 20 years of teaching experience in the PA & NJ
area. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from Carnegie-Mellon
Univ. & Ithaca College. She was part of the honors music fraternity and was
selected as a best recitalist of the graduating class. She won 1st & 2nd
place in the NATS competition. She also attended New England Conservatory of
Music where she graduated with MA in Music Performance. She taught music in
the universities in Korea as an adjunt-professor. She also taught
classroom music (K-8th grade) in the NJ Catholic school system for 5 years.
She holds a teaching certificate for kindergarten through 12th grades. She
has given numerous recitals & benefit concerts through out America & Korea.
She has also served as a church choir director & soloist for the last 20
years.
Lorraine Lawler
Teaches: Piano
Highlights:
Lorraine taught piano for 12 years for a children's music program
at Chestnut Hill College and also taught at the college's summer camp. She
graduated Cum
Laude with Departmental Honors from Chestnut Hill College with a degree in Piano Performance, specializing in Piano Theory.
Lorraine has also attended Music Technology Computer Courses and Music Workshops. A
former member of the Pennsylvania Music Teachers Association, she received
an Educator Award from Wilmington Piano Company. For the past sixteen years,
Lorraine has taught piano students privately and directed their
recitals. Her students receive a well-rounded musical education. They learn
about reading music, rhythm, music theory, musical structure and musical
expression. Lorraine's greatest reward is to see her students, learn, grow
and enjoy the talent they possess.
Crystal Whitaker
Teaches: Voice
Highlights:
Crystal
graduated
from the University of North Dakota with a Masters in Vocal Performance and
a Masters in Vocal Pedagogy. Earning both degrees taught her how to teach
others to sing with their own unique qualities, using healthy and efficient
vocal function. Crystal has received numerous awards fro her performances,
and her students have been selected as soloists and members of honor choirs.
Hannah Yu
Teaches: Piano
Highlights: Hannah received her
bachelor's degree in piano performance at Pusan National University in S.
Korea where she studied through scholarship and graduated with top piano
performance ranked in Senior Recital. After graduation she was offered two
Debut Concerts in S. Korea as an award.
Hannah participated in the Piano Festival Program in England and then came
to America in 1997 to continue to study in piano performance. She received a
scholarship to California State University, Fullerton and began her graduate
studies, working with professor Martha Baker for Piano Pedagogy, who
motivated Hannah to teach piano thoroughly and systematically. After moving
to the East Coast with her family Hannah entered the graduate school of
Temple University, where she won the concerto competition and performed with
Temple University Symphony Orchestra. She was awarded the Temple University
Symphony Orchestra Soloist Award. Hannah has performed as solo pianist and
collaborative pianist since 1990 in South Korea, California and
Pennsylvania. She has taught piano since 1990 for all levels of students and
has been adjunct faculty at Temple University. As a piano teacher she wants
to share the joy and excellence in music with each student she meets, and
tries to encourage and motivate her students to understand music better and
to express themselves through music making. Hannah believes good music can
influence anyone and enhance the quality of life; she takes her teaching
seriously and strives to provide the best quality of lesson. Hannah truly
values a good relationship with each student through commitment and respect.
Chuck Hallahan
Teaches: Saxophone, Clarinet, Flute Highlights: Chuck
Hallahan is an active arranger, composer, performer, and educator of music.
He earned a Bachelor of Music from West Chester University
and a Master of Music from The University of Toledo, where he served as a
Graduate Teaching Assistant. Mr. Hallahan lived and worked in
Toledo, Ohio for
the past three years, during which time he had the pleasure of performing
with Marie Osmond, Jon Hendricks and his Vocalstra, the Pied Pipers, the
Toledo Jazz Orchestra, the Johnny Knorr Orchestra, and many other musicians
from both the Toledo
and Detroit
areas. In addition, he performed as a regular member of Swingmania and Funk
Nation, as well as a studio musician for a
Detroit
songwriter, and has extensive experience with musical theater orchestras. As
an arranger and composer, Mr. Hallahan has written for various groups,
including student and faculty ensembles at The University of Toledo. He is
currently in the process of forming his own ensemble, which will perform his
original compositions and arrangements. Mr. Hallahan has taught both
privately and in the classroom for over eight years, and has experience with
all ages and ability levels. His unique lessons provide a comprehensive
approach to woodwind instruments, offering to each student a customized
blend of technical development, ear training, written theory, composition
and improvisation in both jazz and classical idioms.
Jennifer Brozenske Teaches: Voice, Piano Highlights:
Jennifer graduated from
Cedar Crest College with a B.A. in both Music and Psychology. While there,
she was awarded the Beverly Logan Prize for Excellence in Music. In 1997,
she traveled to Beijing, China on a singing tour as part of the Chinese
American Music Educators Exchange Association (CAMEEA). She was the lead
soprano soloist for the Lehigh Valley VocalWorks. Jennifer is also a
seasoned stage performer with both opera and musical theater credits. In
2005 she co-founded the musical group, The Cosmos, which is devoted to
bringing the sounds of the 50's and 60's to modern audiences. When not
performing, she serves on the marketing committee for Montgomery Theater
and is the Playreading Chairperson for Dutch Country Players. She continues
to perform professionally while instilling her fierce love of musical theory
and semantics to each new generation of musicians
Adam Danoff
Teaches:
Flute Highlights:
Adam Danoff has his Bachelor of
Music degree from West Chester University. A student of Dr. Emily Newbold of
the Julius Baker school of flute playing, Adam also studied under Norman
Katz of the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. In addition to playing
with the premier WCU ensembles, he has also been seen on the stages of the
Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire with the Rakish Rogues, as part of the Juggle
These Band in New York City, and an appearance conducting and arranging for
the NIH Community Orchestra's chamber wind and brass ensembles. For the past
several years, he has been performing with acting companies both in PA and
on tour of the East Coast.
Drama & Musical Production Department:
Trina Marie Moffett Highlights:
Miss Trina attended
