Recital/Informal/Rehearsal/Costume Information 2007-08
It is that time of the year
for old students and a new and exciting experience for new students.
We have a number of
recitals, therefore it is important that you read this paper carefully for the
recitals for the above students.
PLEASE NOTE:
If you choose to be
a part of our recitals, you must attend both recitals and rehearsal.
This is a courtesy to the other students and families.
Please note that you may
only purchase tickets for the recital assigned to you.
You may purchase tickets for other recitals after all students scheduled
for purchase have received their tickets.
REHEARSALS:
Students must be dressed in proper dance attire with hair up.
NO COSTUMES. HAIR MUST
BE UP! NO BANGS. This rehearsal is well chaperoned.
There
is someone at the door at
all times and no one is permitted entrance
or exit during the
rehearsal. Students
are escorted to the bathrooms. For security, we do not permit parents to
stay at this rehearsal.
If for some reason you must be present,
you must see Cathy Passero so we
have an accurate list of all adults
present in the room. We will need a
chaperone from each class-2 for classes of
10. If you are interested
please place a note in the tuition box at the beginning of April (Please not
before). Ages 3-5 year old
classes do not attend the rehearsal. The Informal is their rehearsal.
INFORMAL RECITAL:
This is a show.
Full costume, come dressed and ready to perform.
Parents will be responsible to chaperon their own
child for the Informal Recital.
We will not be providing a Chaperon for this show.
When you arrive take students to the table with their labeled class on
it. Parents will then see where the
student will perform from the show list.
The parent will need to have the student back at the table 3 songs before
they are to perform their song (s)
and 6 songs before the finale.
Please note that they should be fully dressed and ready.
Pictures and class pictures will also be taken during these recitals.
FORMAL RECITAL
ALL STUDENTS MUST EAT
BEFORE THEY COME TO THE RECITAL.
Students are in a chaperoned room with a “G” rated film.
They are escorted back and forth to bathrooms.
WE DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE IN THE ROOM EXCEPT CHAPERONES.
If we allow one parent in the room we must allow all.
This interrupts the safety of our program.
If you want to speak to your child, we will be happy to bring them out to
you, but we WILL NOT bring you into to the room.
Someone is at the door at all times.
You can see the students from the door, but you will not be admitted to
the room unless you are a chaperone.
ALL SEATS ARE PRE-SEATED.
We know where you are through the seating chart if there is a problem.
Prices for dinner will be calculated at a later date.
COSTUME EXCHANGES:
If a costume does not fit, parents should send back their costume in the
original bag/bags. They should attach an envelope with a $10.00 exchange fee.
($10.00 is what the costume companies charge for exchanges.
The Conservatory will pick up the cost of shipping and handling).
JUNE CLASSES:
IF THERE ARE CLASSES IN
JUNE, A NOTE WILL GO HOME WITH THE
COSTS.
COSTUME INFORMATION
Dear Parent,
Please send in the attached costume order form on or before November 15, with a $40.00 costume deposit for each performance class your child takes (Dance Teams are also responsible for this fee). A Reminder that an $18.00 Recital Fee is also due at this time (This fee assists in the expenses for the rental of the School for the Informal/Tech fees for Lily's/Custodian fees/Air-conditioning/Cafeteria space rental). Costumes will be ordered before the December Holidays, therefore your deposit is necessary by the above date. You will also be responsible for the remainder of the costume fee(Balance will be calculated and you will be informed at a later date) which will be due by January 20. If we do not receive your costume deposit/recital fee, and this signed form by November 15, we will assume that your child will not be participating in our Recitals.
Please be aware of the following. It takes 8 to 12 weeks for delivery, therefore, if we receive these costumes in February and your child's costume does not fit, there is a possibility that exchanging the costume may mean that we will not receive it in time for pictures.
WE WILL SIZE STUDENTS, IF YOU JUST SEND IN THE FORM/FEES. THOSE PARENTS WHO CHOOSE TO MEASURE THEIR OWN CHILD AND DICTATE THE COSTUME SIZE, PLEASE FOLLOW DIRECTIONS BELOW ****.
PLEASE FILL OUT THE STUDENTS SIZE ON THE ENCLOSED FORM TO ASSIST US IN SIZING THE STUDENTS, WE CANNOT ACCEPT THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR SIZING PROBLEMS. MANYFACTORS MAY EXIST, WHICH RESULT IN A COSTUME THAT DOES NOT FIT. WHEN WE DO THE SIZING THERE IS A LOW PERCENTAGE OF COSTUME EXCHANGES AND PROBLEMS.
****WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THAT YOU SIZE YOUR OWN CHILD. WE HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR 20 YEARS AND HAVE ONLY A 5% RETURN RATE. IF YOU CHOOSE TO SIZE YOUR OWN CHILD, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL RETURN FEES EQUALING $15.00. IF PARENTS PREFER TO SIZE THEIR
OWN CHILD, YOU WILL NEED TO MEASURE YOUR CHILD, BUST, WAIST, HIPS
AND GIRTH(BEING THE MOST IMPORTANT), AND CHECK THE CHART IN THE OFFICE
FOR SIZES. YOU MUST THEN SEND IN YOUR FORM WITH A NOTE ATTACHED
WITH THE SIZE YOU HAVE CHOSEN. DO NOT SEND IN YOUR SHEET SEPARATE
FROM YOUR NOTE, OR THIS MAY CAUSE CONFUSION WITH THE ORDER. PLEASE
DO NOT ASK OFFICE PEOPLE OR TEACHERS THEIR OPINION ON THE SIZE YOU
CHOOSE. THEY ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH SIZING, EVERY COMPANY IS DIFFERENT.
IF WE DO NOT RECEIVE YOUR COSTUME DEPOSIT BY
NOVEMBER 23, WE WILL
ASSUME YOU WILL NOT BE PART OF THE RECITAL.
